My Skin- Dry Skin Routine

Sunday, May 22, 2016

Something you all may or may not be familiar with is that I have dry skin, extremely dry skin to be exact. I have what is known as escema which is a factor in my dryness. Thanks to the wonderful amazing workers at Kiehls in Brooklyn Heights I have found a new skin care regime that is amazing for dry skin like mine. Here is a simple warning of course, not all skin types are the same even when grouped into these categories like dry, oily, etc. Some of these products may not work for you, they do work for me. Here we go!

Step One: I wake up and wash my face but typically because I'm lazy I go for a toner. The toner is use is the Kiehls cucumber toner for dry skin. I love this toner because it allows the skin to be cleaned softy and gently. It doesn't hurt instead it soothes! It's amazing!!

Step two: I use a serum, the serum I use is the Kiehls 'Hydro-plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate', this serum adds moisture to the skin without making your face look like you ran a marathon. It sinks into the skin quickly and easily.

Step Three: I use the Kiehls 'Ultra Facial Cream', this is my favorite step. For this I take three fingers and swipe tiny bits around my face (it makes me feel like Simba from The Lion King) The best part about this cream is that it's always cold and refreshing especially if you're like me and are always tired or drowsy in the mornings.

Step Four: Next I use the Kiehls Day Oil, it protects you from the harsh outdoors and just smells amazing, not to mention how much it brightens the complexion!

Finally: when go no out I love to protect myself from the sun due to my extreme paleness,  so I use the Kiehls 'Super Fluid Sunscreen' I love this because it's so light and easy to use! Plus it gives a tiny bit of coverage!!!

That is my total skin care routine I hope you enjoyed this list! Let me know! Haha!

5SOS- HEY EVERYBODY/MONEY/JET BLACK HEART/SHES KINDA HOT
(SOUNDS GOOD FEELS GOOD)
Hello everybody!
In the first installment of NEW MUSIC FRIDAY'S where I will be listening to new music... every friday... very self-explanatory...
I get that "I have no actual opinion considering I haven't made (literally) anything in the music industry, I mean i've grown up/growing up around lots of musicians like my father, Michael Mangini, a two time grammy award winner, Andy Grammer, We The Kings, The Jonas Brothers, and many other artists, but I am considered most artists these days' target audience!
In this first installment of NEW MUSIC FRIDAYS we will be discussing the band,
5SOS (5-Sauce)
They currently have all ready released various albums and EP's including: Good Girls EP, and the new album up for preorder (you can go to the site by clicking the preorder).

Today we will be listening to the music in the order in which is came out in!

1.) SHES KINDA HOT (SKH)
It gives off a pop-ish side to Green Day or American Rejects!
This song could appeal to many sides of the scale with music tastes, other than the twitter-fight-starting-20-year-old-males-who-think-they're-copying-gerard-way
The solo's with both the bass and amazing gutair kinda make you stop and question whether or not you actually have any musical bones in your bones.
The song's chorus gives of the positive message of "it's okay to not be alright", that "theres someone else part of the same group 'new broken scene' who is just like you" with lyrics like "it's gonna be alright", "we are the kings and the queens of the new broken scene, but we're alright, though"
Overall the song conveys an incredible message towards a younger generation that we need to hear, that its okay to have off days, it's human, but it an easier way with a "pop-pier" tune that is easier to digest than Blink! or My Chemical Romance.

2.) JET BLACK HEART (JBH)
I personally love this song and I think, especially live, that the raspiness gives off a deeper and more emotional tone that makes you further understand the lyrics, for example, "Everybody's got their demons, even wide awake or dreaming", meaning Everyone has there problems or baggage in life, no matter what, day or night, wide awake or fast asleep. In other words, all the time, and they stay there as a constant reminder of all the negativity in there lives.  This song is a very powerful and risky leap for this band, but lucky for them, the 5SOS FAM loved it and related to the personal struggles they have started to write about. The songs speaks of a person, out of relationship or unhappy in it, and clearly says, He's saying now that he's at that low point and you can clearly see it now that your not caught up in the excitement and thrill of everything happening right now; can you really see how I'm feeling? Do you really know what's going on?
Overall the song is extremely powerful and relatable to those going through troubles or just a jam-out song for those who choose to just listen to the bass lines!

3.) MONEY
This song is clearly more of a rock-ish pop song that describes the 'protagonist' (5SOS) seeing a girl that makes them to be in on the action, "gambling", for this one girl who is extremely attractive, that they were willing to go all out on, "take my money, take my keys, drive this car through the drive-thru please...", basically saying like, i'll do anything for this perfect night with you because I saw something in you even if I don't even know your name. The song is not meant to be read into much, but hey i'm rebelious so I did.

4.) HEY EVERYBODY! (HE)
Please don't hate me but this is not one of my favorites...
Personally I think it sounds like a slowed down version of She's Kinda Hot, Money, and a sped-up version of 'Sweater Weather' by The Neighborhood, and by the EVERYTHING of the song it sounds like Hungry Like The Wolf by Duran Duran.
Then the lyrics (just to me) relate a bit too close to home with the older song they have titled, 18, with these lyrics:
He needs a dollar but he ain't got enough
It's not the end of the world

18: She told me to meet her there
I can't afford a bus fare
Obviously the topic of financial struggle is very vague and a large topic of discussion so they are allowed to write as many songs about it as they want!
I love that they are writing more about the personal struggles that they've encountered in order to relate to those not living their lives! I just don't love this song as much as the others, even though it will still be on my playlist!
I am quite sure that I will not regret my pre-order for "Sounds Good, Feels Good" (SGFG)

Well!
Thats the end of NEW MUSIC FRIDAY'S segment this week!
Thank you so much for reading!

Different Bathing Suits For ALL Body Types

So, I am no stranger to not being able to find the correct swim suit for the hot summer days by the pool, with the suit often just hanging off my body, due to my VERY slim-physique. Today I will go through the different body types and different brands of bathing suits in order for you to look "bangin" this summer.

Now 1.)
If you have a very slender and tall physique like me; here are some places that I love to find the best bathing suits at!
Victoria's Secret (ideal for all body types)
NastyGal
ASOS (any body type, plus-sized included)
Nordstrom
My personal favorite is Victoria's Secret due to their amazing fit, and selection!
Bikini:

This is one of my favorite suits they offer only because i am not a fan of the printed suits!

ONE PIECE
Here showcases a more modest look, that still lets you look cute! The reason I have only reccomended this suit in the slim body type is because they only offer it in a XS or S!

2.) Curvy Women
Lane Bryant is an excellent option for women of a curvier shape
Victoria's Secret they offer an amazing selection of sizes for all women with different shape and sized curves!
Lane Bryant Colour Block Bikini
Lane Bryant Zebra Full Piece
Small Breasted:
According to POPSUGAR Guide!
What to look for: A smaller chest requires less support, so you can look for styles with more minimal coverage or embellished detailing, bows, and patterns to create the illusion of a larger chest.
So having small boobs, is not a burden if thats the way you feel! You can rock anything without support! So those cute bandeaus are perfect! Strappless! ANYTHING!!!!

These are just few of the styles you can go for it!
Big Breasted:
According to POPSUGAR Guide!
What to look for: If you're more well-endowed on top, then support is key. Opt for suits with underwire or molded cups to give the girls the support they need. Avoid ruffles or embellishments up top if you're hoping to minimize the focus on your chest.
-
There fore just go for the halter necks, thicker straps, and thick and heavy support!
Go for solid colours as you want to decrease attention on your chest!
Heres an amazing example! From ASOS the heavily wired and supported cute top is perfect for those bustier ladies!

Hope this helped make your shopping a little easier!
LOVE YOU ALL!
XOXO ARIA

Clinique| Uptown Downtown Duo

Thursday, February 5, 2015

Today I have the raved, hyped up, worshipped eyeshadow duo by Clinique, in the combo Uptown Downtown. It has a beautiful Highlight and lid shade with a darker, deep crease, outer v "definition shade". These eye shadows are not too shabby but okay for the price. The duo is 26.00, I expected MAC like shadows with the look of a powder and the creminess of well... a creme. They are a little too powdery but I could have gotten a dud? You never know! But I would recommend this tremendously, unless you want to go the more expensive route and pick up some thing like Makeup For Ever or MAC! Either way these are great!

Korres| Lip Butter: Pomegranate

Wednesday, February 4, 2015

This post is about the Korres lip butter I bought, hmmm... A good (well over) 8 months ago. This one is in the shade Pomegranate. I have yet to try the other shades but after my love with this one I am sure to buy more! I bought this at Sephora, in the mini travel section at the front. I am in love with this long lasting product. I use this every day and have not struck pan on this guy! It is amazing! I love the fluffy light texture it gives! The tint is a nice girl next door pink. I am most impressed with this products "buy worth" (the amount you pay for a certain amount of product)! I love these lip butters! They add a great sheen to the lips while hydrating! For the price (8-10) this product is amazing!
here is the amount of product after 8 months

Here is what it looks like on the lips!

A Natural Toner| Rice Water

Monday, January 19, 2015

I dont know if i am the only one but I eat brown rice, jasmine rice,(all rice), A LOT
And to reach the level of deliciousness I soak my rice with water about 2 inches above the rice. What few people know is rice water (all but white bleached rice) have very high skin benefits as well as health benefits.
BENEFITS:
recent research has shown that using a rice starch-soak is effective in improving the dry skin lesions of eczema!.
rice bran oil, rice bran powder and rice water applied topically can really change the texture and clarity of your skin, smoothing it and brightening dark spots. In addition, adding whole rice bran to your diet can offer a rich source of Vitamin E and linoleic acids which benefit your skin and the rest of you!
Rice bran powder, rice water, and rice bran oil are staples in the beauty arsenals of Japanese women. They credit rice bran derivatives with keeping their faces wrinkle free and smooth..
They are used both topically as a moisturizer and taken internally for its antioxidant properties.
Rice water. Makes an excellent skin toner that helps keep the skin smooth and its tone bright. It also helps heal acne and cools the redness of an outbreak. It acts as an astringent on the skin, tightening the pores. Rice water is available in health food stores selling cosmetics but rice water is also very easy to make and use. Boil rice (not the instant type) until it is soft and ready to eat. In fact, you can use the steam from cooking the rice to open pores and clean out impurities in the skin.
HOW TO USE:
When the rice is done, drain off the water through a colander into a separate container, you may need to do this twice to get rid of all the rice grains. Put the rice away in the refrigerator and let the rice water cool. After the rice water has cooled, take clean pledgets of cosmetic gauze, or even a clean facial washcloth will do, and wet in the rice water. Pat onto your skin, covering your entire face. Do this for several minutes until you have completely saturated your face, or any other part of the skin on your body. Let your skin air dry. Do this twice a week for brighter skin.
---
Rice starch for eczema. Essentially using rice starch for eczema is like using rice water except do not strain it more than once. You want as much as the starchy components that rinsed off from the rice to be available for use on your skin! Follow the directions above for making it and applying it

How To: More BANG for your Buck

Saturday, January 17, 2015

Recently, products have been getting smaller and smaller leaving you with less product! Heres how to save your products:

Lipgloss:
I reccomend a video on Michelle Phan's channel about this.
You take a cup of not boiling but hot water and put your almost empty glosses in. You will (after 10 min) notice your almost empty glosses are now half full!

Lipstick:
Take out the bottom of the lipstick and you will find a little bit more product, apply with Q-Tip or doe foot applicator.

Cream Shadows/ Gel Liners:

This one is very easy, take out your cream shadow and add one drop of organic,all-natural olive oil. You will find that the product semi melts. Put this in the freezer for 2-3 minutes (more or less depending on your freezer) and you will notice the shadow has more blendability and there is more product.

Pressed Powder/Eyeshadow:

Add a bit of rubbing alcohol, smooth the product down, put into the freezer for 10-15 minutes or until hard.

Foundation:
Follow the same steps for lipglosses

Potted concealer:
Follow the steps for Cream Shadows

Liquid concealer:
Follow the steps for lipgloss

Brushes:
If your brushes are falling apart you can not stop this process either the brush must be retired or you must take better care of the brushes in the future. I reccomend olive oil and water for a ultra-conditioning treatment for the bristles.

Thank you,

Here is the box,it is quite cute and compact with a built in mirror and some tips.
Here is another shot of the box.
OOOH! The fun part,we see the inside! As you can see is there is a mirror and some tips for applying the shadows.
The shadows starting from left to right are, birthday suit, call my bluff, and  kiss me i'm tipsy. Then the next row is my two cents,it's complicated, and finally gilt-y pleasure.
Here on my pink i have my two cents,on my ring finger i have call my bluff,on my middle finger i have kiss me i'm tipsy, and on my index finger (pointer finger) i have it's complicated.
here we have the two cream shadows and on the left we have birthday suit and on the right we have my two cents. These eyeshadows are very creamy and have a wet to dry finish!
Here i have my two cents on the lid and birthday suit on the lash line.
Oooh. So artsy.
These eye shadows are super pigmented and a great everyday look. I highly reccomend these shadows.
