A Natural Toner| Rice Water

Monday, January 19, 2015

I dont know if i am the only one but I eat brown rice, jasmine rice,(all rice), A LOT
And to reach the level of deliciousness I soak my rice with water about 2 inches above the rice. What few people know is rice water (all but white bleached rice) have very high skin benefits as well as health benefits.
BENEFITS:
recent research has shown that using a rice starch-soak is effective in improving the dry skin lesions of eczema!.
rice bran oil, rice bran powder and rice water applied topically can really change the texture and clarity of your skin, smoothing it and brightening dark spots. In addition, adding whole rice bran to your diet can offer a rich source of Vitamin E and linoleic acids which benefit your skin and the rest of you!
Rice bran powder, rice water, and rice bran oil are staples in the beauty arsenals of Japanese women. They credit rice bran derivatives with keeping their faces wrinkle free and smooth..
They are used both topically as a moisturizer and taken internally for its antioxidant properties.
Rice water. Makes an excellent skin toner that helps keep the skin smooth and its tone bright. It also helps heal acne and cools the redness of an outbreak. It acts as an astringent on the skin, tightening the pores. Rice water is available in health food stores selling cosmetics but rice water is also very easy to make and use. Boil rice (not the instant type) until it is soft and ready to eat. In fact, you can use the steam from cooking the rice to open pores and clean out impurities in the skin.
HOW TO USE:
When the rice is done, drain off the water through a colander into a separate container, you may need to do this twice to get rid of all the rice grains. Put the rice away in the refrigerator and let the rice water cool. After the rice water has cooled, take clean pledgets of cosmetic gauze, or even a clean facial washcloth will do, and wet in the rice water. Pat onto your skin, covering your entire face. Do this for several minutes until you have completely saturated your face, or any other part of the skin on your body. Let your skin air dry. Do this twice a week for brighter skin.
---
Rice starch for eczema. Essentially using rice starch for eczema is like using rice water except do not strain it more than once. You want as much as the starchy components that rinsed off from the rice to be available for use on your skin! Follow the directions above for making it and applying it

How To: More BANG for your Buck

Saturday, January 17, 2015

Recently, products have been getting smaller and smaller leaving you with less product! Heres how to save your products:

Lipgloss:
I reccomend a video on Michelle Phan's channel about this.
You take a cup of not boiling but hot water and put your almost empty glosses in. You will (after 10 min) notice your almost empty glosses are now half full!

Lipstick:
Take out the bottom of the lipstick and you will find a little bit more product, apply with Q-Tip or doe foot applicator.

Cream Shadows/ Gel Liners:

This one is very easy, take out your cream shadow and add one drop of organic,all-natural olive oil. You will find that the product semi melts. Put this in the freezer for 2-3 minutes (more or less depending on your freezer) and you will notice the shadow has more blendability and there is more product.

Pressed Powder/Eyeshadow:

Add a bit of rubbing alcohol, smooth the product down, put into the freezer for 10-15 minutes or until hard.

Foundation:
Follow the same steps for lipglosses

Potted concealer:
Follow the steps for Cream Shadows

Liquid concealer:
Follow the steps for lipgloss

Brushes:
If your brushes are falling apart you can not stop this process either the brush must be retired or you must take better care of the brushes in the future. I reccomend olive oil and water for a ultra-conditioning treatment for the bristles.

Thank you,

Here is another shot of the box.
OOOH! The fun part,we see the inside! As you can see is there is a mirror and some tips for applying the shadows.
The shadows starting from left to right are, birthday suit, call my bluff, and  kiss me i'm tipsy. Then the next row is my two cents,it's complicated, and finally gilt-y pleasure.
Here on my pink i have my two cents,on my ring finger i have call my bluff,on my middle finger i have kiss me i'm tipsy, and on my index finger (pointer finger) i have it's complicated.
here we have the two cream shadows and on the left we have birthday suit and on the right we have my two cents. These eyeshadows are very creamy and have a wet to dry finish!
Here i have my two cents on the lid and birthday suit on the lash line.
Oooh. So artsy.
These eye shadows are super pigmented and a great everyday look. I highly reccomend these shadows.
